Biography

A. A. BEN-GUR (b. 1870) Pseudonym of Arn-Volf Hurvits, he was born in Vilna. He took a position close to the Jewish labor movement. He translated booklets which in handwritten form spread out among Jewish workers, and he published literary works in Peretz’s Yontef bleter (Holiday leaves). He translated into Yiddish (from a Hebrew manuscript) Perets Hirshbayn’s Vayte un noente (Far and near) (Vilna, 1906) and Gerhart Hauptmann’s Di veber (The weaver [original: Die Weber]) (Vilna: Di velt, 1906).
